The Work visa (also known as Temporary residency with work permit) allows you to legally work and stay in Mexico for 1 to 4 years.  With this visa, you can freely move within the country, you can to get your Tax ID number (RFC) and electronic signature (e.firma) for tax purposes, as well as opening a bank account, getting a driver’s license, and making real estate transactions.
